Work in Progress

This is what I am working on now. A 4-piece zipped together project that goes from minimal (top left) to extreme (bottom right). I usually really do a lot of thinking before I begin sketching a project, but this time I didn't do any drawing, just cutting and fusing.
Here is a close-up of the top left section. I've basically been drawing with my needle and black thread and it has been very free-ing to just get carried away while machine quilting. I am using Jeanette's Fabrics to Dye For, Hoffman Batiks and Mistyfuse.

  5. This is very fun to look at. Love the free-motion quilting, especially the pebbles in the close-up. Nice echo of the bigger circles. So much movement in this piece, and I like how the flow continues across the panels.

  11. Great energy and color. I like the way the design travels from one block to the next and your "free" quilting is very cool.

  12. Fabulous, Jamie - I'm a big fan of your work (and your book, which I love!), but this newest "seat of the pants" piece is one of my favorites.

    Jamie:
This looks like your art mind has combined your two styles...the brights of houses and faces and the structure and ZIPPERS of the darker pieces...i love this!
    The best of two worlds/brains!
