Garden Party

Garden Party
Commission and my client was thrilled to receive it!
Colorful Japanese lanterns strewn across the sky, framed with three dimensional leaves. Batiks mistyfused to wool felt; free motion machine quilted. Small transparent blue beads are hand-sewn onto the background ever so subtly.

    Jamie, your lanterns are great! When the 12 x 12 group's theme was "Illumination" I made a piece that is quite similar to yours. http://twelveby12.blogspot.com/2008/08/japanese-lanterns.html
    Interestingly, Diane Hock used Japanese Lanterns for her "Illumination" piece as well. Great minds!
