Open Communication

"Open" is the April theme on The Sketchbook Challenge.  I admit that I had a difficult time with the theme.  Then I realized that I was probably over thinking everything.  In the past few months of grieving, I've come to realize how important "open communication" is.  The kind words on a condolence card, God's sweet peace when everyday is done, hope in my heart for healing, knowing who you are, and speaking the truth with love, even if your voice cracks.  Communication is power.

and this is how it was drawn.  See the grid lines.  Drawn in pencil first, then the Sharpie pen.  All of the letters are "open," except for a few, and I decided not to worry about it.  I think that I am going to hang it in my studio, right over my computer.
