Two Months in the Studio

It has been fun to have some time to hang some art on the wall.  I have a wooden hanger collection from my parents house, so I thought I would use some of them to hang art quilts on the wall.  And the fun part is to know that I can hang more things, because the walls are so high.  You can click on the photo to see it larger.

The table that is against the wall is on wheels, and it can move anywhere it is needed.  The artwork on the wall - starting at the top left - me, me, Julie Schlueter (dress), me; middle row, me, Karen Loprete, Victoria Findlay Wolfe, Pamela Allen, and 2 of my Adornment dresses, and the rest is mine.  I'll do a close up shot later this month, so you can see the artwork a lttle better.

The front wall, to my surprise was solid concrete and no dry wall, which made it difficult to hang any artwork.  I anchored my laundry lines from the edge of the adjoining wall, and the door jam.

My paper inspiration wall of business cards, art cards, postcards, photographs and ideas from magazines that caught my fancy.  It was quite a challenge moving this from my former studio to this one.  But I do have a larger area in which to add more things, so that is a good thing.

The corner of the room is looking good.  The sewing area and wall art is coming together.  Stay tuned for fabric organization, and how I am going to store the things that I don't use very often.  Creative storage.
