Who loves a give-away? Some of my favorite things! First up is a Sizzix bird made with my Fabric line ‘Hopscotch’ by RJR Fabrics. This is a blender line and they will keep making it for years! This line has 84 colors!
O
There are 11 hand drawn designs for a tone on tone look! This is a charm pack called ‘Candy Necklace’ and it’s a Missouri Star exclusive. It has 42 pieces of fabric in it. I wonder what you could make with this?
A custom Mistyfuse package of 20” x 1-1/2 yards that were made just for Hopscotch. So cool.
A pin made for my line as a give-away at the last Missouri Star Birthday Bash.
The wool blended felt that I use for my Zen Stitching pieces by National Nonwovens - a sample pack of bright colors!
My favorite snips from Havel’s Sewing. These are great because you can wear them around your neck for hand sewing! I love their scissors, rotary cutters and mats!
And who doesn’t love selvages? Last but not least, a baggie of selvages from Hopscotch. I will be doing three giveaways of my favorite things selected randomly from the comments. Prize day is March 9th. I will send my packages via USPS the following week. My question for you - what do you enjoy making in the world of quilting? Do you like following a pattern or doing something completely original? I look forward to reading your comments!
Recently I’m into embroidering details on a simple design. I’m a beginner and want to expand my skills....
ReplyDeleteI love a good pattern. Sometimes it’s hard to pick just one but the fabric usually has a lot to do with it. Thanks for the awesome giveaway. grinnie1961 at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI love so many things, but I really love coming up with an original idea.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You are a winner. Send your mailing address to my email jamie.fingal@gmail.com
DeleteThxs for a great giveaway!! I get ideas from a pattern but usually take my own path. But not always I like like to try it all!!
ReplyDeleteI promised myself that I would try new things this year. Made some crumb quilt blocks for a swap and experimented with embroidery stitching on used dryer sheets. Now getting ready to try making a pictorial fiber quilt also.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! You are a winner. Send your mailing address to jamie.fingal@gmail.com
DeleteI like following patterns. I go for a bunch of easy donation then I tackle some hard projects.
ReplyDeleteI start a pattern with the best of intentions, then veer off to explore more options. I do need that initial push, though, that a pattern offers. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHey Jamie,
ReplyDeleteYOU have been one of the biggest influences in my artful life... and fabric is my tool! Love the National Non-wovens for backings and the collage and layering of beautifully bright fabrics like your words and houses lines and now WOW! Hopscotch Blenders! When I want to just get on the ironing board with my Misty Fuse and start cutting original little quilt pieces to delight friends... your tips about supplies and techniques come flooding back. I LOVE working along with you as a "ah hah" mentor when I have time just for ME! Taking a pile of your bright, design-savvy fabrics and creating all new work is the best part of creative play time. And it works... saving calendar time for art, a bit of serious planning and then stitch play - AWESOME. Who knows better than you and your buds!Just wishing more of your fabric lines and Leslie's were available in CANADA!!!

DeleteThanks for the give away, snips look great. I will look at the other products. I have a hard time following a pattern. Usually use a pattern for a jumping off point. have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy creating my original designs for my art quilts. It is thrilling to have a concept and be able to use fabric translate it into a quilt. What joy and a sense of accomplishment! Recently I have been making strip quilt blocks and really enjoy the meditative act of stitching together random pieces of fabric and quickly seeing a beautiful composition. I love quilting!

ReplyDeleteI usually make everything completely original off the top of my head.
ReplyDeleteI learned to piece and quilt using patterns. In 2014 I visited the SAQA booth at the Houston international Quilt show and knew I had found my tribe. Now I make art quilts.
ReplyDeleteBeing inspired by colorful fabrics and following my muse is my favorite way to create fiber art quilts. Sometimes that leads me to happy surprises.
ReplyDeleteOh what fun favorites your have! The bird is delightful! I rarely use patterns, but I love looking at blogs for inspiration. I mainly make small projects like pouches and wall hangings. My granddaughter is my quilting buddy and she has limited patience for big projects!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! You are a winner. Send your mailing address to jamie.fingal@gmail.com
DeleteI like your attitude of "Play" in quilting. I do like to use a pattern as a basis, but must make it different (as a friend noted). I think my favorite part is choosing fabric!
ReplyDeleteFun giveaway, Jamie! I like doing mostly original designs, sometimes with old blocks. Mostly wall hangings and minis.
ReplyDeleteThe winners are Gerrie, S. Miller and Pamela and i’ll throw another one in for B. Garner.
