About Me

I am an artist, author, retired teacher, illustrator, quilter, fabric designer, and former curator who hails from Orange, California.  I am an award winning artist and the author of the book “Embellished Mini Quilts."  My whimsical and abstract work has been juried into International quilt exhibitions, featured in many books and various magazines. and has two instructional DVD's - "The Whimsical House Quilt" and "Rebel Quilting. I have had the opportunity to be a guest on The Quilt Show and Quilting Arts TV. I am the other half of the curating team of "Dinner at Eight Artists," with Leslie Tucker Jenison. My work is in private, public, churches, and corporate collections.

My fiber artwork is made for the wall, and my philosophy about making quilts is more about having fun, than about perfection.  I use vibrant colors, shapes and textures to create artwork that invites the viewer in for a closer look.
Being a rebel quilter, my style is eclectic, a little edgy, and whimsical. Motifs in my work include houses with cups and saucers on the roofs, funky portraits and abstract.

I was a fabric designer for RJR Fabrics.  'Hopscotch', which is a blender line (tone on tone) in 96 colors, 14 hand drawn designs,  'Sewing 101,’ and “Heavy on the Metal.” And designed four lines for Hoffman Fabrics when I first began this journey in 2013

I have designed stencils for StencilGirl Products and embroidery designs for Global Artisans. My face was on the 10 yard packages of Mistyfuse. Hand drawn Mistyfuse girls made into stickers for their packaging!

I believe in giving back, and coordinate the "Welcome Home" house quilt project with Furnishing Hope that benefit wounded service members (Patriotic House Quilts) and women and children who are transitioning out of homelessness (Heart of the Home).
